The talented Kalaitzis

The Greeks gave the world everything that is today considered a benchmark and classic: government, democracy, architecture, philosophy, science, and much more. Among the world’s peoples, it is the Greek people who are credited with the greatest achievements. I was fortunate to meet one such talented representative of the great Greek people in Mongolia—Konstantinos Kalaitzis. This incredibly gifted man turned out to be very humble and wise.

On July 11, 1921, a wooden platform was erected on the square, in front of today's Opera House, from which Prime Minister D. Bodo proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic. From that time on, the square became known in the capital as Tribune Square (Indriin Talbay) and became the site of public gatherings and rallies
